ABOUT ME

I had a passion for cinema since taking a digital filmmaking class in high school, having watched the films of Charlie Chaplin, Francis Ford Coppola, Martin Scorsese, and the Marx Brothers. When I got access to a camera and laptop, I decided that I wanted to become a filmmaker. After finishing high school, I majored in Film and Broadcast at St. Francis College from 2008 to 2012, graduating Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in Art.

In college, I got involved with the theater troupe, both performing on stage and working on crew. I performed in Angels in America: Millennium Approaches, Tartuffe, and Dog Sees God: Confessions of a Teenaged Blockhead. On the crew side, I videotaped and edited performances, conducted photo shoots, and helped manage advertising. I carried my theater expertise into my post-grad life, directing two plays written by Mark Rosati, Restoration (2013, 2014, and 2015) and Duet (2016 and 2017), and co-directing Reservations for Dinner (2018) and The Sample (2019), both written by Sean O’Leary. Though I no longer act regularly, I enjoy doing it, and took to the stage again in 2018 to act in Mark Olson’s Seventies Porn.

I had been involved in a number of film projects with increasing responsibilities. Early on, I served as script supervisor/production assistant on the short comedy film, A Box Came to Brooklyn (2012), and quickly moved on to editing, taking up a year-long internship at Outpost Digital. Since then, I have edited five independent short films (The Parking Spot, Manipulation, The Playground, Öber Driver, and Señorita), three music videos, and am currently editing a feature-length documentary, Why Farrell’s. When not working in independent film, I develop educational videos.

A major staple of my professional life is working the Art of Brooklyn Film Festival, which is dedicated to Brookyln stories and filmmakers. I initially joined as a volunteer, and was promoted to tech director, taking on responsibilities ranging from running screenings to editing the festival trailers and interviews.

I also have a passion for analyzing and talking about film, and had become an established film critic for an online magazine, the Knockturnal. Since 2016, I have written over 100 professional film reviews and interviews for the magazine, and additionally post reviews on my personal blog.

I continue to develop my craft, as well as seek out opportunities to collaborate with other artists to produce films that tell powerful stories.
